4-3 Cell Cycle Flashcards
0
Q
Mitosis
A
One copy of DNA goes to each of the two new daughter cells; has four parts
1
Q
Interphase
A
Cell grows to mature size, does normal life processes, copies its organelles & chromosomes; prepares to divide.
2
Q
Prophase
A
Chromosomes condense from long strands (chromatin) into rod like structures; spindle fibers form between the centrioles; nuclear membrane breaks down.
3
Q
Metaphase
A
Paired chromatids (chromosomes) line up along the center of the cell and attach by their centromeres to spindle fibers. Nuclear membrane dissolves.
