Cells And The Microscope Flashcards
All plant cells have-
Chloroplasts , a cell wall and a large central vacuole
All cells have-
A cell membrane , cytoplasm , nucleus and a small vacuole
What’s cytoplasm
It’s a watery fluid which gives support to the cell
What’s the nucleus
It controls the cells activities
What’s a cell membrane
It allows things in into and out of the cell
What’s a cell wall
It gives strength to the plant cells
What are chloroplasts
They contain chlorophyll to help make plant food
What’s the vacuole
It’s space containing water, sugar and wastes
What’s a microscope
It’s used to magnify or make things bigger. The four main parts are: the eyepiece, the stage, the objective lens and the focus knobs.
What is the eyepiece used for
To look through and magnify
What are the focus knobs used for
To focus on the slide
What’s the stage
To put the slide on
What’s the objective lens
To magnify
What’s the tissue
A group of similar cells with a special function
What’s the organ
A group of different tissues working together
