What is a Nucleus?
The structure that controls cellular activity
What is a Cell Membrane and a Cell Wall?
Cell Membrane - the structure that covers all of the cell and controls what goes in and out of the cell.
Cell Wall - the structure that covers the cell membrane and makes the cell sturdy on its own.
What is Cytoplasm?
A substance where all sub-cellular structures are (except the membrane and wall)
What is a Mitochondria?
A structure that processes glucose into energy used in the cell
What is a Ribosome?
A structure where protein synthesis occurs - protein is created here
What is a Vacuole?
A structure that stores the cell’s glucose
What is a Chloroplast?
A structure where photosynthesis occurs - glucose is created here
What is a Flagellum?
A structure which is in the shape of a tail - this helps the cell move
What is a Eukaryotic Cell?
A cell that contains a nucleus - unless if the cell is specialised in a certain job - and is (usually) part of a multi-cellular organism
What is a Prokaryotic Cell?
A cell that does not contain a Nucleus and is a single-called organism
