Cells Flashcards
In biology, the smallest unit that can preform all life processes; Covered by a membrane and have DNA and cytoplasm.
Cell
in a eukaryotic cell, a membrane-bound organelle that contains the cell’s DNA and that has a role in processes such as growth, metabolism, and reproduction.
Nucleus
a phospholipid layer that covers a cell’s surface; acts as a barrier between the inside of a cell and the cell’s enviorment.
Cell membrane
a rigid structure that surrounds the cell membrane and provides support to the cell
cell wall
cell organelle composed of RNA and protein; the site of protein synthesis
Ribosome
a thick solution that fills in.
cytoplasm
an organelle in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells containing degradative enzymes enclosed in a membrane.
lysosome
Storage bubbles found in cells.
vacuole
the food producers in cells.
chloroplast
an organelle found in large numbers of most cells.
Mitochondria
Found in most cells, a packing organelle.
Golgi complex
a network of membranous tubules within the cytoplasm of a eukaryotic cell.
Endoplasmic reticulum
