Mitochondria
The organelle that captures energy from the sun and uses it to create food.

This organelle surrounds and protects the contents of the cell. It also controls what can leave and enter the cell.
Cell Membrane
A structure in a cell that has a specific job to do.
Organelle

This takes up a large part of the cell, and is a jelly-like watery fluid.

A large, dark, round structure that controls a cell’s activities.

This organelle is only in plant cells. It is thick, rigid, and made up of cellulose.

Some things can pass through and others can’t.
Selectively Permeable
When a cell divides and becomes two cells.

It is small and alive, and can perform the functions of life.
