Cell Structure - Plant and Animal Cell Differences Flashcards
1
Q
What is in a plant cell but not in an animal cell ?
A
*Cell wall - cellulose, freely permeable, allows (increase) pressure turgidity
*Plasmodesmata - poets to link adjacent cells
*Vacuole - large permanent vacuole, surrounded by tonoplast, filled with pigments, enzymes, sugars, mineral salts, O(2) and CO(2), regulate osmotic properties.
*Chloroplasts - grana, contain chlorophyll (absorbs light)

Q
What is in an animal cell but not a plant cell ?
A
*Centrioles - cell division
*Phagocytic vacuoles - temporary and smaller
