Q

What does rough ER do? What organelles are attached to it?

A

Manufactures proteins with help of ribosomes to export out of the cell. Sits around nucleus and has ribosomes attached to make proteins.

Q

What is the function of lysosomes? Where are they manufactured?

A

Protein, lipid, nucleic acid, and carbohydrate destruction. Also destroy viruses which infect the cell.

Manufactured in the Golgi apparatus.

Q

What are the 4 types of vesicles.

A
  1. Transport vesicles- move things throughout cell
  2. Lysosomes- break down things
  3. Peroxisomes- use oxygen to break down toxic things in cell
  4. Secretory vesicles- holds things to be secreted like waste and hormones.
