Q

animal info

A

most animal cells differentiate early on in their development
mature animals cells divide to replace cells and repair tissues
rarely create tissues
differentiate in embryo
have to reproduce sexually

bacterial cells

A

bacteria examples of prokaryotic cells
bacteria contains
cytoplasm
cell wall and cell membrane

Q

plant cuttings example

A

if you cut a small section of a plant stem and plant it some of the cells will differentiate creating new root tissue

Q

differentiation?

A

cell develops new sub-cellular structures to let it perform a specific function when this happens the cell is specialised

Q

Embryos

A

cell differentiation happens during an organisms development
organisms start at one cell
cells divide to form embryos that differentiate to produce cells that can perform all body functions

Q

sperm cells

A

specialised by fertilised egg
to do that they need to travel long distances to their size
then they break through the egg cell and fertilise it

Q

inside sperm cells

A

acrosome -at the tip of the head contains enzyme to penetrate (break into the cell)
middle section - is the part which contains mitochondria to provide the cell with energy so it can travel its long distance to the egg
Tail is used for the cells motion ables the sperm to travel to the egg cell
Head - contains the sperm cells nucleus. The nucleus carries on half of the organisms genetic material whichh combines with the egg cells half of genetic material and then fertilise it
