Q

Mitrocondria

A
  • Inside the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells
  • AKA the Powerhouse of the cell since it produces the most energy in the form of ATP; also it’s primary function

Other functions the Mitochondria are INVOLVED with
- Signaling
- Differentiating cells
- Controlling cell cycle
- Cell growth
- Cell death

Q

Pyruvate to Succinyl CoA

A
  • Pyruvate becomes Acetyl CoA
  • Acetyl CoA combines with Oxaloacetate to become Citric Acid
  • Citric Acid becomes Isocitric Acid and becomes a-Ketoglutaric acid
  • a-Ketoglutaric acid becomes Succinyl CoA
