Cell Parts Flashcards
Nucleus
The Nucleus is in the center of a cell and it has DNA in it
Endoplasmic Reticulum
The function of the Endoplasmic Reticulum is packaging protein, sending the protein to the Golgi apparatus in sacs called cisternae
Golgi Body
Changes the protein shape then sends it out of the cell
Cell Membrane
Keeps the good nutrients (fluid form) in and keeps the bad stuff out
Mitochondria
The function is called cell respiration, it makes energy called ATP
Chloroplast
Conducts photosynthesis which uses sunlight to create energy for plants
Vacuole
Vacuoles store food and any type of nutrients that are required for the cells to survive, even store waste to prevent contamination
Cell Wall
To protect the inside of the cell
Ribosome
It makes the protein for the cell on the endoplasmic reticulum
Cytoplasm
Helps materials pass through cell safely, also shapes the cell
