Cell fate determination Flashcards
1
Q
What does delta-notch signalling cause?
A
A cell to not become a neuron
2
Q
What is lateral inhibition and how is it regulated?
A
Lateral inhibition causes a group of originally similar cells different from one another
Transmission of an inhibitory signal (delta) between a cluster of cells- prevents certain cells from adopting particular fate (neuronal identity)
Regulated by delta-notch signalling
3
Q
Where are the radial glia found?
A
Radial glia (neuronal stem cells) found in the ventricular zones Differentiated neurons migrate laterally away from such zones
