Q

What are the 5 main functions of the cytoskeleton?

A
  1. Strengthens the cell and maintains the cell shape.
  2. It supports the organelles keeping them in place.
  3. Contracts (shortens) to transport mRNA, vesicles, lysosomes and chromatids (during cell division)
  4. It allows the cilia or the whole cell to move.
  5. It can cause the cell to change shape.
