What changes were made to the CCP leadership in the late 1920s? Why did this occur?
The Soviet Comintern was disappointed by the slew of failed uprisings during the 1920-1930s, mainly due to them imposing policies on the CCP that the CCP had no resources to carry out, such as military and widespread popular support.
The Soviet Comintern blamed Qu QiuBai’s ‘left deviationism’ and Chen Duxiu’s ‘right opptunism’ on the failed uprising, both being demoted from their positions and replaced. People such as Li Lisan came into prominence, who headed the propaganda department.
What was the purpose of the Red Army Rules of Conduct?
He wanted to reverse the saying that one ‘should not waste good iron making nails, nor good men as soldiers’. This army was a volunteer force, which subverted the commonly held proactice of conscription, with captured soldiers being offered a spot.
