Cause and effect
After narrative possiblites are presented to the audience, the narrrative then relies on the character change to drive the story
Opening
Provides the platform where narrative is launched. Settings characters are introduced and can present narrative possibilites
Plot
The pattern of events or main story in a narrative or dram premise
Point of view
It is a narrative function that helps the audience understand how the characters are feeling
Structure of time.
Real time- in closed arena
- linear( unfolds from beginning to end)
- non linear (unstructerd, starts from end ends at start)
Character
Reveals to the audience the characters personailty, belifs , strengths, weaknesses and emotions. It also examines the relationship between other characters
EgSterotypes countertypes and archetypes.
Conventions
Rules or formulas for a spcific media product eg drama would have sad themes, dilemas and powerful acting
Codes
Collection of rules relating to the subject eg visual codes- lighting, miseun scene, facial experssion
