What is the structure and function of the CCL?

A

Attached to cranial tibia and attaches to the femur

It prevents cranial movement of the tibia when the extensors contract

Why is radiography used?

A

Rule out other pathology and detect DJD
Show joint effusion (effacing infra patellar fat pad)
Check Tibial thrust and Cranial draw when sedated
