What is a communicable disease?
A disease that can be spread by a pathogen from one individual to another.

Something that causes the body not to work properly.
What is the definition of health?
A state of physical, social and mental wellbeing.
What is the immune system?
The system that helps protect the body from harm by diseases.
What is a pathogen?
An organism that causes a communicable disease.
What is malnutrition?
Having too much or too little of one or more nutrients.
What’s a genetic disorder?
A disease caused by faulty alleles of our genes.
Why would a BMI be considered inaccurate at measuring obesity?
Because it doesn’t account muscle.
What is cardiovascular disease?
A disease where the heart or circulatory system doesn’t function properly.
What is a heart attack?
When the heart stops pumping properly due to a lack of oxygen reaching.
What is a stent?
A small mesh tube used to widen narrowed blood vessels and allow blood to flow more easily.
What is a stroke?
Death of brain cells caused by a lack of blood, due to a blockage in a blood vessel in the brain.
What is the waist:hip ratio?
A measure of the amount of fat in the body.
What is aids?
When HIV has damaged the immune system so they’re more likely to get secondary infections.
What is chalara dieback?
Communicable by wind, of ash trees caused by fungus. Produces lesions of the trunk & branches and dieback of the top of the tree.
