Metabolic Syndrome Criteria
Criteria for making the diagnosis include: abdominal obesity defined as greater than 40 inches in men or greater than 35 inches in females, triglycerides > 150 mg/dL, HDL < 40 mg/dL in men and < 50 mg/dL in women, blood pressure > 130/85 or on hypertensive medication and fasting glucose > 100 mg/dL.
