Dred Scott v. Sanford
Dred Scott, a slave, sued for his freedom. The Supreme Court ruled that Dred Scott is a slave(property), not a citizen and therefor can’t sue in court. Also states cannot deny an owner their property.
Kansas Nebraska Act
-KS and NE will both vote in slavery. This is called popular sovereignty
-Railroad will go through northern states
