How to correctly position tourniquet on extremity in relation to injury
A
Proximate to the site
2-3 inches above (if cant find, high and tight)

Tightening and securing the tightening rod and safety strap?
A
Tighten strap and route through.
Tighten rod until bleeding stops
secure rod and strap with safety strap.

Checking for a pulse and performing a blood sweep
A
Check for pulse below the extremity, ensure blood flow is occulled
Perform blood sweep to see if any other injuries

Documenting tourniquet application time
A
Write time of CAT application on safety strap
