Cast correction- FFV/VALGUS Flashcards
ORTHOTIC PRESCRIPTION
1
Q
Cast correction for rear foot and forefoot
A
- All scans are balanced to rearfoot 0 , if the cast slightly pronated after pouring then balance it out to rear foot 0 then add the correction or 1st scanned and then balanced, then the arch fill technique is added when the cast is at rear foot 0 basically all the correction occurs after rear foot 0
- then 90 percent hight of the arch is considered. adding rear foot correction arch height will increase by approximately 0.5mm for 1 degree. E.G. if one foot is neutral and the other is 4 degrees rear foot corrected. the corrected orthotic have a higher arch than neutral foot
2
Q
Forefoot valgus
A
a lateral wedge to the orthotic shell
3
Q
Forefoot valgus
A
create more pressure to the medial distal end of the orthotic
E.g. in the mid arch fill technique the distal portion follows the first ray
if we add 4 degrees forefoot varus post we adding more pressure to support forefoot varus or supinatus
