impregnated rolls of casting material are moistened in warm water and then rolled onto the extremity, which has been covered by stockinette and padding. This material is easily molded to the extremity and is a wet dressing that gradually hardens. Care must be taken that the cast does not cause any pressure on the skin. This cast is fairly heavy and must be kept dry.
