HM had surgery to cure his epliepsy-removed his hippocampus

A
Led to him being unable to make new long term memories (both E&S ie he learned no new words)

A
His procedural memory worked (mirror drawing task which he improved on with practice)

He could still use STM as long as rehearsal was maintained but couldn’t pass to LTM
