Alek Mennasian
Incel. 25 years old. In 2018, he drove his van onto a busy sidewalk downtown Toronto and killed many people. He was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome but no mental illness. His friends and family did not think he had any illness. He looked up to other incels who killed Chads and Staceys like Elliot Rogers.
Tim Bosma
He was murdered by two men who were supposedly going to buy his truck. The one man, Millard, was bored and his friend decided Bosma was an easy target. Bosma took the men out on a test drive very late at night, they then killed him and put him in an animal incinerator.
Me Too
Sexual assualt reports skyrocketed in October 2017. Women were more comfortable coming forward as supposed to there being more assaults. Harvey Weinstein (movie director) continuously harrased girls and women who worked for him, everyone knew about it but no one did anything.
Human Trafficking
Toronto is the biggest human trafficking center. Pimps “shop online” through social media while looking for girls with low self-esteem and who are desperate for a relationship. The pimps then “woo” the girls with gifts and the prospect of an actual relationship. The girls think it’s all free but the pimps then tell them to pay them back for everything (usually very expensive and they know the girls can’t afford it). They sell the girls so they make the money to pay them back but they are usually “tied” to the pimps through alcohol and drugs.
Making of a Police officer
September 2018, a man (C) got into a fender bender and then ran away to a gas station where he locked himself in the bathroom. A police officer (PCM) tried to coerce C out of the bathroom but he wouldn’t come out. They forced opened the door and C started shooting at the officers. PCM was shot twice in the leg (femeral artery) but survived. C was shot to death.
Rich School/ Poor School
School Generated Funds (fundraisers, donations…) cannot go towards staff or external learning materials. This money is typically raised by parents or family members. Richer schools get a lot more funding because the parents can afford to spend a lot at fundraisers. Poor schools get left behind because the parents cannot afford to spend money.
