weaknesses of case studies

A
  • reliance on self report methods like interviews so prone to inaccurate recall and social desirability bias
  • cannot generalise findings from one unique individual to wider population
  • unique to one person so cannot replicate and test reliability
  • researcher bias, they decide what to include and exclude, loose ability to think objectively as theyve been working closely with a person for a long time
