Terry v. Ohio
Officer may frisk with RS and belief the suspect is armed.
Pennsylvania v. Mimms
Officer may order person out of the car during a traffic stop to pat down.
Carroll v. United States
May search vehicle if belief of evidence in vehicle and you have exigent circumstances (vehicle).
Miranda v. Arizona
A person in police custody must be informed of the right to an attorney and of the right against self-incrimination before questioning.
Tennessee v. Garner
May use deadly force to prevent the escape of a fleeing suspect if the officer believes that the suspect poses a significant risk of death or injury to others.
Wyoming v. Houghton
May look into objects or personal belongings capable of concealing items that are the object of a search. Includes plain-view.
Scott v. Harris
May attempt to terminate a high-speed car chase that threatens the lives of bystanders, even if it places the suspect at risk of serious injury or death.
Maryland v. King
If a defendant was caught on a violent scene a DNA sample may be collected.
Castle v. San Andreas
A person may use deadly force to protect oneself if it is (1) in response to an unprovoked attack which (2) threatens imminent injury or death. The response must use (3) an objectively reasonable degree of force and (4) the defender must report the act to law enforcement as soon as possible.

A person who renders emergency assistance to an individual may not be sued for their actions unless those actions are negligent.
