What is the treatment for otitis media with effusion?

What is a grommet/tympanostomy tube?
Tube that is inserted into the tympanic membrane to ventilate the middle ear cavity due to the eustachian tube being blocked by effusion
Grommets are extruded from tympanic membrane as it heals (6 months - 2 years)
Is a grommet permanent?
No, usually last 6months - 2yrs
