A
- Description (blood before, during or after defecation).
- Bright red or dark blood.
- Pain during defecation.
- Urgency.
- Tenesmus (ineffectual spasms of the rectum accompanied by the desire to empty the bowel).
- Mucus in stool.
- Recent abx use.

- CV ==> A.
- Chest ==> A.
- Abdo ==> A + P + P.

DDx:
A
- CRC.
- Hemorrhoids.
- C.difficile colitis.
- Diverticulosis.
- Angiodysplasia.
- Ulcerative colitis.

Workup:
A
- Rectal exam, stool for occult blood.
- Colonoscopy.
- Stool for C.difficile PCR.
- Fecal leukocytes.
- CBC.
- Anoscopy.
- Flexible proctosigmoidoscopy.
- CT-abdo/pelvis.
- INR/PT/PTT.
