What are Bivariate Colors?

A

-Describes data by looking at more than one value at a time to determine correlations and anomalies.

15
Q

What is Standard Deviations?

A

Classes defined by how far above/below the mean the values are

16
Q

What is a Geometric Interval?

A

Classes are defined by geometric series (2, 4, 8, 16, etc.)

17
Q

What is a Contour Line?

A

Elevation or depth

18
Q

What is a Isoline?

A

Measures of air pollution, rainfall, noise, etc.

19
Q

What is an Isopach?

A

A line that connects points of equal true thickness

20
Q

What are Index Contour Lines?

A

Lines drawn darker (thicker) at specific interval to help in reading the contour lines.

21
Q

What are Intermediate Contour Lines?

A

Regular, thinner contour lines

22
Q

What are Supplemental Contour Lines?

A

Dashed lines that are placed between regular contour lines to visualize small but important forms that regular contour lines are unable to show.

23
Q

What does it mean when contours have a “V” shape?

A

Indicates a valley (often a stream or river). The “V” points upstream, or towards the higher end of the valley.
