Q

What is the differences between spongy and compact bone?

A

Spongy:

  • No osteons
  • Spaces between trabeculae (rodlike structures making up bone) occupied by red and yellow marrow, nerves etc..

Compact:

  • Contains osteons with osteocytes in them
  • Much more dense
