What does the median nerve supply?
A
Motor: flexors of anterior forearm, thenar muscles, lateral lumbrical muscles.
Sensory: Lateral part of palm, thumb and 2 and a half fingers on the palmar surface of the hand.

Carpal tunnel syndrome

What causes carpal tunnel syndrome?
A
Compression of the median nerve within the carpal tunnel, caused by thickened ligaments and tendon sheaths.
