Carolyn's Bank - DAVENTRY Flashcards
What are the available bandboxes on Daventry?
All four together (27/32/28/34), northbounds (28/34), southbounds (27/32), southbounds and one northbound (27/32 and 28 or 34), all combined with Lakes (3/4/7/27/32/28/34) or all combined with Clacton (12/13/14/27/32/28/34).
Which sectors must remain adjacent when split?
S27 & S32 must be alongside each other (southbounds)
S28 & S34 must be alongside each other (northbounds)
What is unique about the method of operation in the airspace where S27 and S32 are?
No other sector in the room shares airspace and responsibilities when split.
What radar sources provide cover for DTY sectors?
Bovindgon, Clee Hill, Cromer, Debden, Great Dunfell and Pease Pottage.

Standby: 126.875 (LAKES) - this is what it says in the book. Think the actual standby is 120.025 from Central
State the frequencies for the following sectors: COWLY West COWLY East WELIN West WELIN East DAGGA
COWLY West: 133.080 COWLY East: 121.030 WELIN West: 130.925 WELIN East: 128.480 DAGGA: 124.930
What is the division between COWLY and WELIN sectors in TC?
A line between PEDIG - DTY - BNN.
What is the TC WELIN sector split and what is each split responsible for?
TC WELIN West is responsible for:
1) Midland Group and EGNE inbounds operating under the S26 to TC WELIN Standing Agreement
2) EGKK Departures
3) Midlands Group departures routeing via S12 and BPK (this traffic may alternatively be transferred to TC WELIN East)
TC WELIN East is responsible for:
All EGHH, EGHI, Farnborough Group and LTMA departures (excluding EGKK).
Note: This traffic is subject to internal coordination between TC WELIN East and West
What is the split of TC COWLY and what traffic are they responsible for?
COWLY East is responsible for:
LTMA inbounds via BNN, LOREL, JACKO and SPEAR, EGSG (Stapleford)/EGSU (Duxford) and SX (North Weald) arrivals. EGNX departures routeing via CPT/WCO and FINMA.
COWLY West is responsible for:
Gatwick inbounds via WILLO and inbounds to EGHH/EGHI and Farnborough Group airfields. Birmingham and Coventry departures routeing via CPT and COWLY.
Who has the responsibility to inform GS Lakes when TC COWLY is going to split?
GS North - GS Lakes will then inform the S27/S32 Planner.
To the east of what centreline should S27/S32 tactical not allow aircraft to fly without coordination with the S28 or S34 tactical?
East of the centreline of the MCT-WCO track.
What is the vertical split of S28 & S34?
S28 - At FL295 and below
S34 - Above FL295
When splitting sectors 28 and 34, what must DTYN Planner ensure has been done?
Must ensure all coordination sequence of electronics is correct (have been planning FL290 up)
When S28 and S34 are split which traffic is RFC to Lakes?
All traffic coordinated by S34 to Lakes at FL300 and above is released for climb on contact.
Traffic coordinated by S28 to Lakes at FL290 is not released for climb unless Lakes coordinate with S34.
When S27 and S32 are split, what must the tactical display and why?
Both tacticals must have the RFD display line showing on radar. Traffic must not be descended to the north and west of this line without coordination with the other Daventry South team.
What route restrictions apply to N601/UN601?
Westbound traffic only. Exceptionally ATC may clear traffic to operate eastbound.
What routeings are issued by S28/S34 to traffic on the following routes?
UL613 - UY250 - UP18
UP6 - UM65 - UL603
UP6 - UL28 - UL70
UL613 - UY250 - UP18 - RIMTO-GASKO-NATEB
UP6 - UM65 - UL603 - RODOL-TENSO-REMSI
UP6 - UL28 - UL70 - RODOL-MCT-PENIL
What is UP18 route used for? What routeing will be issued to pilots?
When available - a compulsory route for EGPD (Aberdeen) arrivals FL290+
Via UL613 - RIMTO-GASKO-NATEB
What type of route is L613 and what conditions apply to its use?
Westbound only route, flight plannable for aircraft into and overflying the Scottish TMA at FL290+ via HALIF (except EGPD arrivals).
Also for use by EGNT/EGNV/EGPD arrivals filed FL245+
What are the routes for the following STARs? BNN1B WILLO3B LOREL3G SPEAR1M
BNN1B - NUGRA-TOBID-SOPIT-WCO-BNN
WILLO3B - KIDLI-MID-HOLLY-WILLO
LOREL3G - MCT-PEDIG-ROGBI-CLIPY-BKY-BUSTA-LOREL
SPEAR1M - MCT-PEDIG-ROGBI-CLIPY-BKY-MAYLA-SPEAR
If MID VOR is U/S what arrival route would be used for EGKK inbounds?
ASTRA2B
What are the Standing Agreements from TC to S28?
LTMA departures (except EGKK, EGHH, EGHI, EGKB and Farnborough Group) FL190 level TIMPO/PIPIN/10nm before LESTA (FL190 10nm before LESTA is for EGNT/EGNV/EGPD arrivals routeing T420/Y250)
EGKK, EGHH, EGHI, EGKB and Farnborough Group at or climbing to FL210.
EGKK outbound - who do you call to ask for it to be transferred to you? How do you request further climb prior to the boundary and what are the RFT conditions?
You ring TC WELIN to ask for it to be transferred.
You would send a pointout to S26 and request coordinated climb with them - take into account any EGBB inbounds/EGGD/EGFF flights and overflights.
EGKK departures are RFT to the right on contact regardless of heading, only released for left turns if coordinated, the traffic is north of the southern edge of the Westcott corridor and within lateral confines of the airspace or if south of the southern edge of the Westcott corridor then aircraft has passed above FL230. Released for left turns if not on a heading.
Traffic routeing from LFPG to EGNV and cruising at FL340. Describe the coordination sequence and standing agreements when Daventry North is split.
S34 down to FL300 to S28. S28 down to FL280 level BETAX or 25nm before MAMUL.
What is the routeing for an EGNT inbound after MAMUL?
RIMTO-GOKOV-IRKOR-XODRU (as of 1st Aug 19)
What are the conditions required to omit coordination between DTY and PC S29 or PC East?
All northbound traffic may be transferred to PC East or S29 without coordination provided that:
1) The aircraft is at its filed flight level
2) The aircraft is not at an ODL
3) The aircraft is following the route displayed on the EFS
4) The time is within +/- 5 minutes of that displayed on the EFS
