Cargo Handling Systems Flashcards
Rubber vibration isolators provide:
- Reduce overall internal load vibrations
- over-tightening of loads will reduce effectiveness of vibration isolators
D-ring fittings on cabin floor:
- 87 5,000 pound fittings
- 8 10,000 pound fittings
Cabin sections A-F
A- cockpit
B- companionway/ troop CDR seat
C,D,E- cabin area
F- ramp
Three prime factors for loading the helicopter:
-Weight, balance, restraint
Cargo ramp/cargo door:
-Return control module (transfer cylinder)
-Holds additional fluid for ramp actuators as ramp is moved up/down
Cargo ramp/cargo door:
-Actuating cylinder:
- Located on each side of ramp
- Hydraulically operated to raise and lower the ramp
- Ramp lowers by gravity, actuating cylinders serve as dampers
- Contains internal locks- only method of locking ramp in place
Cargo ramp/cargo door:
-Cargo door actuator motor:
- Located inside the ramp
- Reversible motor controlled by sequence valve
- Used to extend or retract the cargo door as ramp opens or closes
Cargo ramp/cargo door:
-Emergency utility pressure valve:
- APU start accumulator pressure for ramp operation
- Ramp switch in cockpit- on
- Valve- open
- Operate ramp- ramp control lever
Winch/rescue hoist
-Selector lever: rescue or cargo
-Rescue:
- 0-100 FPM
- limit switch: 28.5 ft IN, 150 ft OUT
- Structural limit: 600 lbs.
Winch/rescue hoist:
Selector lever- Cargo
- 0-20 FPM
- Limit switch: 3 ft IN, 150 ft OUT
- Structural limit: 3000 lbs straight line pull
What flooring stations have rubber vibration isolators?
