What is Meltzoff and Moore aim to do?
Examine caregiver-infant interactions
What was Meltzoff and Moore’d method?
An adult model would display one of three facial expressions or hand movements and the child’s response was filmed
What were the results of Meltzoff and Moore’s study?
There was an association between infant behaviour and the adult model
What are the evaluation points of Meltzoff and Moore’s study?
- Questionable reliability of testing infants
- Reliable and can be replicated by same people
- Unreliable and cannot be replicated by other psychologists
