It is tax that an individual and companies pay for what they earn or their profits

Who pays taxes
All individuals who earms any form of income in a tax year
Who needs to submit a completed and signed income tax return to SARS
Where taxpayers receive remuneration less that R120 000,taxpayers may elect not to submit an income tax return
Why do we need to pay taxes
The government uses the taxes to run the country and pay for roads, schools, hospitals, poisons and teachers salaries. They pay grants from taxes
Types of taxes
VAT - 15% tax for all goods you buy
SITE - Standard income tax on employees. Paid of you earn less than 120 000 a year
PAYE - Pay as you earn. Deducted every month if you earn more than 120 000 per year
Dirt taxes - paid on goods like cigarettes and alcohol
Import tax - paid on all goods imported into the country
Provisional tax - paid 2 times a year . Paid by people who do not have the same income every month and year, eg sports person
Sugar tax
