Symptoms- Excessive sweating, fatigue, muscle cramps, headaches, dizziness
Treatment- treatment of underlying causes
Angina
Causes/ Risk Factor- Coronary artery narrowing
Symptoms- Pain/ tightness in chest
Treatment- treatment of underlying condition
coronary artery disease
Causes/ Risk Factors- Buildup of fat and cholesterol in arteries
Symptoms- Usually no symptoms prior to the heart attack
Treatment- Low-fat diet, Exercise, Smoking cessation
Myocardial infarction
Causes/ Risk Factors- Blood clot, coronary artery blockage
Symptoms- Nausea, Dizziness, shortness of breath
Treatment- Aspirin, CPR if unconscious
Aneurysm
Causes/ Risk Factors- Smoking, Obesity, High- cholesterol diet,
Symptoms- Usually none, Possible back pain, Dizziness
Treatment- Surgery
Congestive heart failure
Causes/ Risk Factor- Smoking, Obesity, Hypertension, sedentary lifestyle
Symptoms- shortness of breath, wheezing, irregular heartbeat
Treatment- Medications to address tachycardia, Diuretic medication to treat edema, Antihypertensive medication
Mitral valve prolapse.
Causes/ Risk Factors- Usually unknown
Symptoms- Mild cases usually have no symptoms
Treatment- None for mild cases, Medication to treat symptoms, Surgery to repair
Thrombophlebitis
Causes/ Risk Factors- Prolonged periods of inactivity, Hormone replacement therapy, Cancer
Symptoms- Pain in affected area, Redness, Swelling
Treatment- Heat, Compression stockings, surgery
