Starting a statin in a person with a QRISK3 score of 10% or greater

A
QRISK3 estimates the risk of a person having a stroke or myocardial infarction in the next 10 years

A
The 4 A’s:
- Aspirin
- Atorvastatin
- Atenolol (or another beta blocker)
- ACE inhibitor, e.g. ramipril

A
- Mild transaminitis (statin does not need to be stopped if rise in AST and/or ALT is less than 3x upper limit of normal)
