Cardiovascular Flashcards

1
Q

What is the blood flow process through the heart?

A

Deoxygenated blood enters on the RHS through the SVC and IVC into the R atria. The tricuspid valve opens for it to empty into the R ventricle. Pulmonary valve opens for it to leave through pulmonary arteries to the lungs.
Oxygenated blood returns on the LHS through pulmonary vein into the L atrium, through bicuspid valve into L ventricle and then pumped through aortic valve out to the body.
