Cardiopulm Flashcards
LO
Be able to sketch a normal cardiac pacemaker and contractile tissue action potential and indicate what ionic conductance changes are causing the various components
Be able to sketch a cardiac cycle including right and left ventricular pressures and volumes as well as aortic pressure. Also relate these parameters to a cardiac volume pressure loop
Relate the cardiac action potentials to the ECG as well as the cardiac cycle
Produce a flow chart indicating reflec responses maintaining normal blood pressure and in response o cardiac failure, hemorrhage and pathological imbalances. Include neurotransmitters, receptors, hormones etc and their target organs
Where are cardiac action potentials
SA node Atrial muscle AV node Common bundle Bundle branches Purkinje fibers Ventricular msucle
Describe the AP at atrial of ventricular cells
NA in huge spike
Ca in prolongs this plateau
K out
Describe action potential at sinus or AV node
Na and Ca in to hit threshold
Ca rushes in
