Management of patients following a myocardial infarction (MI) - all drugs they should be offered on discharge?
All patients should be offered the following drugs:
- dual antiplatelet therapy (aspirin plus a second antiplatelet agent, usually ticagrelor and prasugrel)
- ACE inhibitor
- beta-blocker
- statin

Management of patients following a myocardial infarction (MI) - what additional drug should be prescribed if they have symptoms of heart failure?
Aldosterone antagonist - eplerenone
Patients who have had an acute MI and who have symptoms and/or signs of heart failure and left ventricular systolic dysfunction, treatment with an aldosterone antagonist licensed for post-MI treatment (e.g. eplerenone) should be initiated within 3-14 days of the MI, preferably after ACE inhibitor therapy
Antiplatelet therapy following ischaemic stroke
Immediately Aspirin Daily 300mg for 2 weeks
and
Clopidogrel Daily 75mg Lifelong
Contraindications to thrombolysis?
abc ship - aortic dissection, bleeding, coag disorders, stroke, HTN, intracranial neoplasm/injury, pregnancy
ECG changes for hyperkalaemia including sinusoidal T wave?
