Cardiac Things To Know Flashcards
Rattle off the Typical pressures in the L side of the heart
Left Atrium: <12 mmHg
Left Ventricle: <130 Systolic, 10 diastolic
Aorta: < 130 Systolic, 90 diastolic
Rattle off pressures in R side of heart.
R atrium < 5
Right ventricle: < 25 systolic, < 5 diastolic
Pulmonary Artery: <25 systolic, 10 diastolic
Likely etiologies of Narrow Complex PEA (4)
Cardiac Tamponade
Tension Pneumothorax
Mechanical hyperventilation
Pulmonary Embolism
Likely etiologies of Wide Complex PEA? (2)
Severe hyperkalemia (CaCl and NaHCO3)
Sodium Channel toxicity (NaHCO3)
Define Sustained ROSC
Sustained ROSC is deemed to have occurred when chest compressions are
not required for 20 consecutive minutes and signs of circulation persist
Define “Survived Event”
“Survived event” for the out-of-hospital setting means sustained ROSC
with spontaneous circulation until admission and transfer of care to the
medical staff at the receiving hospital.
