What is a cardiac tamponade?
A
- accumulation of pericardial fluid, blood, pus or air in pericardial space that increases intra-pericardial pressure
-medical emergency which can be rapidly fatal if not drained

reduced filing of the heart during diastole leading to decreased cardiac output during systole
