A
• The idea that the education market is ruled by parents choice through the use of formula funding for pupils.

Why are Gillborn & Youdell critical of parentocracy?
A
- Claim it’s not parents who rule the education market, it’s the successful schools which breed more success.
- Keeps the successful schools oversubscribed and unsuccessful offloaded with expensive students.
