A
Convert the linear motion of the piston to a rotational force
Connects the pistons to the transmission

Piston function?
A
Pistons and piston rods connect to the crankshaft.
Pistons are pushed downwards by the expansion of compressed air, turning the crankshaft.

Valves function?
A
Control the flow of air into the cylinders. Controlled by the CAM shaft and timing belt, also connected to the crank.
