What are the effects of a Candida infection? (3)

A
  • Affects mucous membranes; most commonly in the mouth and vagina
  • Makes one more vulnerable to HIV as it affects mucous membranes
  • It can occur harmlessly in the body, often in the intestine. It is kept in check by the immune system and intestine bacteria.

  • Excessive taking of antibiotics can reduce the number of friendly bacteria in your intestine
