What is a tumour?
A
Any kind of mass forming lesion:
Neoplastic, inflammatory or hamartomatous

A
Autonomous growth of tissue which has escaped normal constraints of cell proliferation

What are Hamartomas?
A
Localised benign overgrowths of one or more mature cell types, representing architectural but not cytological abnormalities e.g. In lung, composed of cartilage and bronchial tissue

What are Heterotopias?
A
Normal tissue found in parts of the body where they are usually not present

How are cancers staged?
A
TNM
Tumor - size extent of local invasion
Nodes - # of nodes involved
Metastases - presence of distant metastases
