What are the 6 characteristics of a good campsite?
A
- Level and smooth
- away from high tide mark or flood zones
- close to clean water source
- atleast 100m from the kitchen and 100m from the food cache
- Ground cover, such as sand or snow, that can be restored when you leave
- Behind a good windblock

What is a bad characteristic of a campsite location?
A
- moose in the area, or moose blocking the trail would not be a good place to set a tent up

What are the 7 things to AVOID when looking for a good campsite location?
A
- The middle of a game trail
- standing water with breed bugs
- fragile land such as tundras
- berry patches or spawning fish because of bears
- widowmakers (dead trees)
- low areas that fill with cold air
- snow cornices that might fall or slopes that might avalanche

Should we avoid tree wells competely?
A
They are dangerous but no. they can be used as shelter during winter

A
- reservations or permits required?
- firebans?
- plan time to set up atleast 2 hours of daylight
- re-use previously impacted areas
