-they did planning and vaccines

-difficult to get to people due to poor infrastructure
-some religion leaders said it wasn’t halal therefore people didn’t get vaccinated
-vaccination centres got bombed

-Mauritius
-top down national insensitive which can get rid of malaria
-malaria became an endemic there in 1867
-to eradicate it they sprayed buildings and breeding sites
-declared malaria free in 1997
What is a grassroot strategy?
Empowers and involves local communities
What is an example of grassroot?
Guinea work
-involved women volunteers
-they would monitor cases, ensure those infected didn’t contaminate water and replace water filters
-it was proven highly successful and has been eradicated from Ghana
