Q

What are the two methods of meal planing based on caloric need and the 1-2-3 nutritional rule of thumb?

A
  1. Divide the total caloric need by 6. Fat gets one part, protein gets 2 parts, and carbs get 3 parts of the over all caloric need.
  2. Determine the protein requirement for the individual by body weight. Figure 17% of the total caloric need for fats. Add the protein requirement and fat allotment together and subtract from total caloric requirement for carbs.
