Perfect Cadence rules:
A
- retain common tones
- when leading not (7th degree) is in the melody resolve to the tonic
- when inner voice, resolve to 5th of chord I
- Avoid parallel 5ths and octaves
- double the root of the chord
- move the upper voices in contrary motion

- Start with outer voices and move in
- Avoid parallel 5ths and octaves
- Avoid overlapping parts
- move upper voices in contrary motion to bass

Candence that ends on V (I-V, II-V, IV-V, iisus-V)

known as ‘deceptive’ cadences. Seems like the music is going to resolve to I but goes to another chord such as VI
