- Suggest procurement route
Traditional (fragmented method)
Design and build (fully integrated method)
Management fee contracting (partially integrated method) - scope and project brief - initial meetings
- business plan - establishes financial costings and feasibility and potential time frame
What two factors must be considered when selecting the pourcement route?
Client characteristics
- private or public client - funding
- Past Experience
- Criteria and priority: i.e quilaty, cost, time, risk, sustainability etc

- size of the project
- complexity - designs
- Purpose and type of project (residential, commercial, industrial etc)
What involvement does the CA have at the pre-construction stage? (contract stage)
aids in selecting tenders by pre-qualification criteria with weighting factors and strategic voting systems. also pre-qualification interviews
BOQ, specifications, and drawings need to be done before tender
Prepare and execute contracts
- contracts selected reflect the procurement route selected
What involvement does the CA have at the construction stage?
Manage the contract and monitor it
identify any breach of contract
Issue provisions and mechanisms within the contract

Issuing interim certificates.

Preparing and issuing construction progress reports.
Co-ordinating and instructing site inspectors.

issue defect list and certification of making good - over defect period (6-12 months)
